Denia
Denia is located on the east coast of Spain, along the stretch known as the Costa Blanca. Denia is very much a family resort. A quiet little town that was once the centre of the regions raisin growing industry. Although tourism has taken over, raisins are still grown here and remain to be a local delicacy. The town was once guarded by the hill top castle it is open to the public there is also the archaeology, toy museum and art center.
On every street and square as you stroll around this interesting townyou will find that traditional Spanish charm. The Marques de campo is the town´s main paseo here you will find both traditional and trendy bars, restaurants and shops.
There are 20 kms of beaches to enjoy all you have to decide is if you want to laze away the days in a tranquil cove or join in the many activities the choice is yours. Sports lovers will find everything they need sailing, canoeing, jet ski, diving, swimming or fishing there is something for everyone. You could even take a ferry to Ibiza either for a day’s cruise or a night dancing. Or for a longer trip catch a ferry to the Balearic Islands
Denia has an impressive working fishing fleet and fresh fish can be seen being unloaded and sorted daily. Along the port there is a regular fresh fish and meat market. A Spanish general market is held on a Monday. The new marina with trendy bars and shops is great for people watching while enjoying a glass of wine or a coffee
But it isn’t just sea and beaches you can walk and bike around the Montgo natural park ideal for bird watching and is rich in flowers and fauna.
Fiestas provide entertainment for all ages from the Moors and Christian mock battles to bull running to evening craft markets along the port.
Quite literally there is something for everyone
