It had everything we required and its location is ideal if you want some peace and quiet in a lovely village literally less than a 100 yards form the Mosel. If you add to this the very agreeable hospitality of the hosts (Thomas and Marion) then the pictures complete. We were travelling by motorbike and had clocked up near 2,000 miles when we got there, and the rest and relaxation we enjoyed at Neumagen was spot on thanks to location and hosts. Specially as most flights touch down at late times. We also found out that "oven not cleaned" -barbecue filthy . I,am not sure who this is down to ? -but RICH-KIM who live in DALYAN and look after local villa,s - sorted out the issues before our arrival. plus the "welcome pack" . I also find it strange that the VILLA can sleep potentially 5 -adults the SUNBED situaton fine but only 2 -cushions avaliable -were,as the VILLA next to NEMARA - had 6 adults all with SUNBEDS/CUSHIONS on - patio wise the table has a mix of different plastic seats of which 2 were damage prior to arrival replaced with smaller versions -by local REP ? -we also had on 2 occasions other people being shown around while here. More detailed cleaning of the place will make a BIG difference! Example the can opener could not be used because it was not clean. the flowers were beautiful but could do better with rinsing/dusting them. The refrigerator could be detailed cleaned. The washer and dryer was broke, it poured water all over the house when we tried to use it, the person who answered the phone when I called to report it, did not sound amused or too happy about having to deal with it. I was not expecting for it to be corrected right away, but she was not customer friendly. The posistion was good, overlooking the pool with unobstructed views to the town beyond. The rooms were light, spacious, and airy. The air conditioning was a welcome touch. It had a well equipped kitchen. The bedroom had lots of wardrobe space and plenty of drawers. Bathroom had a good shower over the bath. Could have done with more than one large towel and one hand towel each. They were changed once during the week when the apartment was cleaned. The Manoir exceeded our expectations in many regards. Grant and Sandra stayed up late to personally welcome us and walk us around the grounds, which are immaculate and filled with apple, pear and cherry trees. The hammock and the pool were a real treat too! We took many long walks down the path from the Manoir across the stretches of fields (poppies, lavender, nothing but untouched greenery for miles). You feel like you have the whole place to yourself. Our gite was very well equipped with a clean modern oven, microwave, washing machine, coffee machine, DVD player, TV, iron, hairdryer, kettle, many pots and pans, a variety of dishes (even a tart pan and mini creme brule pots! excellent!) and utensils you can think of, and most importantly – lots of champagne glasses! The bedroom was a decent size with a large armoire and a huge, gorgeous arch-shaped window that looks on the front garden, filled with flowers and has a very French-country charm feel that we loved. The many small touches are what made it even more special: a rain-fall shower head, comfortable beds, nice quality towels, books to read, DVDs to rent, cupboards stocked with olive oil, coffee, sugar and other necessities. And the food! Croissants, pain au chocolate, breakfast crepes filled the most delicious mushrooms and ham you have ever tasted are delivered right to your door in the morning so you can relax from the time you get up and not worry about rushing about to make breakfast home-made apple juice (which we drank several large bottles of!) was chilled and ready for us when we arrived we were delighted to see Hagen Daz ice cream in a dozen flavors available in the freezer, which was a perfect treat after a sunny day as we watched the sunset and sipped champagne at night… speaking of champagne – there are bottles of local champagne and wine stocked for convenience. We spent our mornings drinking coffee in the sun at the table outside our gite, or lounging on the lounge chairs, and then walked around out into the fields with our dog off-leash or drove to a nearby village to visit the Champagne caves. There are many supermarkets to choose from, and we bought excellent cheeses, charcuterie and salmon to enjoy at dinner with Champagnes we collected during the day. The Manoir is in a tiny village but close to many other larger towns, which was exactly what we were looking for. The total calm and beauty of the countryside did our souls good! Yet, we spent no more than 30 minutes driving before we were able to see great wine houses. A bread truck comes by every day so you can take advantage of fresh goodies without having to drive anywhere. Sandra and Grant are true professionals and excellent hosts! Kids loved the loft room with DVD player. Pool was a godsend with loads of space to laze about around it, definetely worth going for the pool as much less hassle than having to walk up to shared pool. Played golf a few times, highly recommend Kaya Eagles and National. We decided not to get a car as didnt want hassle of driving. This was okay but nearest shop was about 10 - 15 mins walk away back towards the main road. which sells basics such as bread, water and beer. Main town of Kadriye is about 20 - 25 minutes walk away, turn right out of villa and then left at main road. Dolmus (local bus) was a bit disappointing as only turn up about every 45 minutes, whereas other parts of Turkey we have visited they turm up every 5 minutes. Taxis were fairly cheap, 12-13 Lira to Belek. We were disappointed to find that the property wasnt overly clean when we arrived. The house hadnt been dusted in a while and one of the girls complained about how clean the shower was. For a group of 10 girls there wasnt adequate getting ready space, there were mirrors but not located next to plug sockets for hair dryers and straighteners, which was and would be a problem for any other rental. The property was advertised to sleep 10, however the sofa beds downstairs in th lounge didnt really provide a comfortable nights sleep. This property is great to sleep 8 people, but 10 could be uncomfortable. The other residents within the block are really lovely people and helped us out with advice on exporing the area and avoiding the tourist traps. Fethyie itself is a wonderful area with an efficient transport system to explore other areas. It was our fifth trip to this wonderful country and we picked the Casa Buglione as a great place to celebrate our 25th anniversary with family and friends. The villa was fantastic,far exceeding all expectations.The beautiful pictures on the website do not do justice to this marvelous home. It was very comfortable , with plenty of space for everyone to relax in, although we always seemed to congregate by the pool in the evening , or the sunroom in the morning. Gianpiero was great, arranging a wonderful lunch in the village , for us to "shake off the cobwebs"after a long transatlantic flight. He was constantly vigilant about any anticipated need, but we also appreciated his non-obtrusive style.Maria, the maid was great. I believe that she came in on her day off to make some special arrangements for my oldest son.Thank you The area is magical.The village seems to be one of the last remaining "true " portuguese villages in the area. The beaches of Guincho and the village of Cascais are very close. I would definitely recommend a car in order to get up to Bridgetown or other beaches further up the east and west coasts. On arrival we found some milk, cereal and some beers plus some cold drinks which was just what was needed after a long flight. The property was clean and tidy. Facilities are exe cellent including a refreshing pool, barbecue, jacuzzi bath. The best thing was the little extras like the beach towels and even down to things like adapters, ceiling fans and air-con as well as ice from the American style fridge freezer. There are handy things like maps and attraction guides as well. Michael, the property manager, was very helpful. He changed up money for us, fixed a minor problem with the tv and also offered good advice on sites to visit/restaurants. I would highly reccomend this property and we are hoping to return as soon as we can to visit again.
